Where is my father?

I really applaud mothers. It is not easy being a mother. Even worse if you are a single mother. More so when the father is alive and shirking responsibility. Applause to all mothers.
Then again, not all mothers are mothers. I believe a mother to be one who seeks the well being of her children. A mother is a woman with a conscience and brings up her child/ children in an upright manner.
Marriages are not meant to be broken when one party is fed up. After misusing the goods, the men give it up but may be it could be the woman’s fault. I won’t hold brief for any party here. Kids are involved. Through no fault of theirs, they have to endure the pain of a traumatic divorce. Sad. I would always advocate for the traditional African marriage ceremony. They hardly break up.
I looked at this handsome young man without a father figure in his life. Due to divorce. Sad to say, the boy is a nerd too. His outward appearance was nothing to write home about. He chomped on a chewing gum as though his very existence on earth depended on it. He is lucky not to be my son. I err. Forgive me. It takes a village to raise a child. I called and talked. I have started the process to put him back on track. I cannot see him derail. I was lucky to have good train drivers amongst others. Another story. Another day.
