It is said and I quote wholeheartedly “Religion is a cultural system of behaviors and practices, world views, ethics, and social organisation that relate humanity to an order of existence. About 84% of the world’s population is affiliated with one of the five largest religions, namely Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism or folk religion.”
Now to the religiosity of our lives. Is it a sham or a true reflection of our lives? I would have loved to mention a few religions but no that would defeat the purpose of this article. For you to continue reading this article, please put yourself in a comfortable position and ask yourself ” Who am I?”
The underlying theme running through every major and or minor religion is love. Love is so huge a topic. Love can never be seen or heard. Love can only be felt. Love can be experienced. If someone tells you they saw Love, then it is a human being named so. Probably going to the market.
I am especially amused when people proclaim piety but do not exhibit such. There is much talk but no show of love. I would love to see people displaying love. If the number of people who sit in church, jump and scream Hallelujah at the slightest opportunity would openly or at a point in time show an act of kindness to someone who needs it, would be wonderful. Some of you “holy” ones just sit and chastise and wait to feed fat of the little others have. Take someone to lunch, offer a word of kindness, encourage. Do something!! Do something!!
Don’t tell me you are praying for me. Do not tell me you prayed for me. Don’t tell me God is in control. Don’t tell me all will be well! Don’t tell it is an act of God. Don’t tell me it is biblical. Simply put don’t tell me …
Do something practical. Act! Show love! In a practical manner. Let there be an experience worth writing home about.
Love your religion. It is a way of life. Unless your religion preaches selfishness. Unless your religion is a sham. Unless you are a hypocrite. Unless..
Exemplary lives. K Amigosten Amoah, Kofi Larbi aka Kola Nut, Edward Sena Dey to mention a few.
