“Who keeps you warm at night?”
“Hmmmmm. Excuse me please”
I said who keeps you warm at night?
This came from one ……

She simply loved people. People flocked. She did not wear her piety on her sleeve but she revered men of the cloth. She was married too. She never poked her nose into people’s affairs but she knew everyone’s history and geography.  She had only one aim…

They are the best of friends. They do everything together. Their wives are now best of friends. Next a plot was hatched….

Is it hate? Is it jealousy? Is it sheer human nature to envy someone when they are moving up? Why can’t people simply accept that we are all of a different cloth? This attitude is so prevalent in our Ghanaian society.  I am moving too fast. Can one person embody everything on this earth? I am yet to meet such person. I am stymied. Yes, I can’t go on. (I stopped on the 5th of May. To be continued)

I have friends. Some are school mates. We have all got to  a point in life I believe nature has now categorized us.  In truth some are needy. Others live flashy lifestyles. They deserve it. They worked for it. I applaud them. Do they look down on others or do they do their philanthropical bit their own way? Are they people or not?

Now, when your fellow human is hurting and needs help, what do you do? You do nothing and yet you call the person your brother or sister? (my bp is at the corner). People are not people. Somebody tries to climb the ladder and instead of helping, all you do is bring them down? Now take a deep breath. You go to the your pastor complaining about somebody at your workplace. Have you taken time to take a retrospective look at your workplace ethics? Are you a team player or what? What if they also choose to go to their pastor? Are the pastors serving different (G)(g)ods? People are not people.

People should be people. Live the God you espouse. Live the truth. Live with an open conscience. Live with an aim for posterity to judge you for the better. People should be people. Live with the aim of people saying and testifying to good things about you. Even the positives from one person is enough.

If people are not people, please I beg you to be YOU!

Kwasi (First name rhymes with Crazy but he is not) Ntem-Mensah is a father and a husband. He is a mentor, a Fatherhood Consultant and a member of the Fatherhood Roundtable. Kwasi is currently the Fatherhood Initiative Coordinator working with ECHN-Family Development Center’s Healthy Families Healthy Babies program. Kwasi does collaborative work with the DOC and DCF. He is the creator of ReadToMe and Celebrating Our Fathers events. Kwasi facilitates 24/7 Dads and Circle of Security parenting. He is the author of the anthology of poems and short story “A Silent Noisy Walk in My Mind” and publisher of “SilentNoises.org”. He is also a radio presenter at CMRadio, a Ghanaian radio station based in East Hartford and a member of AABAC, an advocacy association for people of color. Lastly, Kwasi is a wonderful community advocate that is eager to work with people all races, genders and socio-economic background
