The order for my arrest had come from the top. To them I knew too much. My family knew too much. I had to be silenced. To the MPol, I was just another soldier who had disobeyed orders. They had no idea whom they were dealing with. I was on their secure channels listening in to all their coded communications about me. I smiled in the darkness. My men communicated to me through dog barks and whistles. I just listened to the messages and got ready.
There were roughly twenty soldiers outside my gate. Each was armed to the teeth. They were from the elite squad within MPol. They were to bring me in dead or alive;DOA. It simply meant kill him on sight.
The knocking ceased just as it had started. The silence was noisy. You could hear pins dropping in the stillness of the night. My front gate opened. A series of barks followed.
My men had communicated the movement of the soldiers within my compound and towards and into my house. Two had entered, one behind the other but slightly to the left. Sixteen followed in single file moving to the right and left simultaneously. The last two maintained the rear, walking backwards. Four of the sixteen moved towards my cars and began checking them out. Their communicators had gone silent.
I would defend myself and live for what i had been trained to do: defend my country at the peril of my life.
