Running on empty!

The stadium was filled to capacity. Everyone was shouting themselves hoarse. All chanting one name. His name. He is a legend. Many had come just to see him in his element. Even those students, who were in the stadium but walking around its periphery, were now rushing in. The race would be over in just under fifteen seconds.
Runners on your marks; get set; POW!!! Crack of the pistol
The 200 meters finals would take place after the 100 meters finals. Two out of those running in the 100 meters would be running in the 200 meters finals too. This is going to be mad crazy.
The stadium was ablaze. He had won again. People were dancing with ecstasy.
Wait! What? Why? He won’t run in the 200 finals? What was wrong? Was he hurt? Why? Why? Why?
The answer was all over. He said he was out. Washed out. If he did, he would run on empty. He told his coaches the truth. He had nothing to give out at that time. He was empty. He had been bold to say it.
To admit when you are empty is not assign of defeat. It is rather a sign of a great person. Oftentimes we run on empty. Running on empty does not mean being out of ideas but also out of steam. The vigor/vim might have died down.
Know it and say it. Admit it. You are empty. You feel it. Anything could be the cause.
Tiredness; Lack of Support; Stress; Hunger; Gluttony; Lack of motivation; Incessant bashing.
I admit. I feel empty. It has been wonderful writing for you all. I will be back when I am full.
I take a bow! I am still and always will be #SILENTNOISES.

  1. 1st – 3rd paragraph brings fond memories of “interco”… how I loved those competitions… notorious schs fomenting civil unrest at the stadium, folks walk in groups just for a little security which last only a short time as soon as there’s “aluta”….
